I went to another law firm and the cost of getting a financial separation agreement done was substantial. It was too much for me and I was looking for a much easier way to get it done.
I went to one legal firm to do arbitration which I thought was the correct way to do it but I found out later it wasn’t because it was going to be 20% of my asset pool that I was ending up with. And that was a lot more than I was willing to hand over for a piece of paper.
I think it worked out like $15,000 that the original lawyer wanted. That was each. From me and my former partner.
It was crazy. I asked for the dollar amount and they wouldn’t give me one. So I just said sorry, no. I could tell you who it was if you want…
Then a friend of mine who was going through the same process recommended that I use RP Emery.
He took me through the process and showed me how to do it on the computer. How to download the kit and what I had to do. Actually, he was really good, he helped me through a lot of it.
It was easy to get the legal kit and do it this way and get it all done without much stress or fuss and it was affordable as well so that was a bonus.
I didn’t have to go and visit people and stuff like that, it was all taken care of and I liked that. That made it very easy for me.
I did consider arbitration (and a) court order. That was mentioned as well. My friend went to a solicitor and found out how much it was going to cost him and he said that this (RP Emery’s service) was a better option, price-wise as well as quick and easy.
Everything was fantastic. The lawyer was friendly. He gave me all the information I needed to make the right decision. He was always there if I needed to call. That was really nice. So if I needed any information I could call night or day, that was good.

There was actually a fella at work that I work with that was going through a similar situation. I pointed him in the direction of RP Emery and gave him the website and the tools to go in there and have a look at himself and I’ve already… I just said it was a very easy process. Everything’s taken care of for you and it’s affordable and it’s one less thing you have to worry about.
